Quick start
- Copy one or more six-digit hex colors.
- Open Palette Dock and tap Paste clipboard.
- Review the colors and enter a palette name.
- Tap Export palette, choose a format, then select an app or Save to Files.
Spaces, commas, line breaks, and # marks are accepted. Color order and duplicates are preserved.
Choose an export format
Compatibility can vary by app version. If an app does not appear in Apple’s share sheet, save the palette to Files and import it from inside that app.
Troubleshooting
Paste clipboard does not add colors
Make sure the clipboard contains six-digit RGB hex values such as #3A6B7C. Three-, four- and eight-digit color values are not supported. If iOS asks for permission to paste, choose Allow.
Some pasted text is marked invalid
Remove labels or values that are not six hexadecimal characters. Valid characters are 0–9 and A–F. Spaces, commas, line breaks and leading # marks are fine.
The Export button is unavailable
Add at least one valid color and correct any invalid tokens shown below the editor. The button becomes available when the palette can be exported safely.
An art app does not appear in the share sheet
Choose Save to Files. Open the destination app afterward and use its Import, Open or Add Palette command to select the saved file.
The palette imports differently than expected
Try the format recommended for that app above. Palette Dock preserves the original color order and duplicates, but destination apps may display, group or rename imported colors differently.
My draft or theme changed
Palette Dock stores the latest draft, palette name and appearance choice on this device. Editing them replaces the previous saved values. Deleting the app removes its locally stored settings according to iOS behavior.
Report a problem
If the steps above do not solve the issue, include these details when contacting the developer through Palette Dock’s App Store product page:
- Your iPad or iPhone model
- Your iOS or iPadOS version
- The Palette Dock version
- The export format you selected
- The destination app and its version
- What you expected and what happened
Do not include private clipboard contents. A short example palette that reproduces the problem is enough.
